Another Golden Harvest for Sauternes

The latest vintage also produced numerous top dry whites

The 2003 vintage looks to be a winner for the white wines of Bordeaux, resulting in both dry and sweet styles that are extremely rich and exotic. Despite the prospect of another top year for the region's great sweet wines, there was an eerie calm in Château de Malle's tiny tasting room this Saturday, when I went through two dozen barrel samples of 2003 Sauternes and Barsac from producers in the two areas.
