Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the world's best-known red wine grape. Centuries ago, when the planting of many grape varieties in a single vineyard plot was common, a natural crossing of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc occurred, resulting in Cabernet Sauvignon.
