In Burgundy, vignerons are relieved by the quality of the reds and whites from the 2010 vintage, where the growing season posed challenges such as rain, poor flowering and hail. Wine Spectator tasting director Bruce Sanderson spent two weeks in Burgundy, tasting more than 300 early samples from barrel, tank and bottle. Here he gives a preliminary vintage ratings for the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, plus recommends top wines from producers he visited, with score ranges and tasting notes.
