Q: I was at a charity wine auction and thought the opening bid was $200 on a double magnum of 2005 Colgin Cariad. I raised my paddle to bid, and realized the bid was actually $2,000. I ended up winning (of course) and now have a double magnum that I do not want, nor really should have in the first place. Do you have any ideas on how I can resell this bottle? —Nicole
A: There are several auction houses that might consider taking your consignment including Spectrum, winebid.com, and winegavel.com. Have you any idea where and how the Cariad was stored prior to your purchase? That information would prove helpful.
