
The 2008 vintage in Burgundy is turning out to be another “sleeper” year in quality, perhaps along the lines of 2001. It was a cool, wet summer, saved by the north wind during the latter half of September and early October. Consequently, everything was delayed in ’08: the harvest, the fermentations, the malolactic conversions and, thus, the bottling.
