When it comes to Bordeaux vintages, 2008 won’t go down as one of the greats. If it weren’t for the stretch of warm, dry weather in the second half of September, it could have been a disaster. But despite the vintage’s inconsistencies and lack of stellar wines, there are some top bottlings. Dig a bit outside of the biggest names and you’ll come up with not only very good wines, but some excellent values as well.
