Austria’ s native grape Grüner Veltliner is just the ticket if you are looking for something different in a white wine. The best Grüners are rich and complex, offering a spicy overlay to ripe citrus, white fruit and mineral flavors. An important center of Grüner quality is the Wachau district, which lies west of Vienna and features terraced vineyards that rise above the banks of the Danube.
