Washington state’s pure, fresh fruit flavors bring a high pleasure quotient to blends using Bordeaux grapes Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Although some of the state’s blue-chip bottles can break the $100 barrier, similar quality can be had for less. Even better, many of these value wines are produced in large quantities, making them easier to find.
