New reviews of Syrah- and Grenache-based reds from Vacqueyras’ Vignerons de Caractère

The Vignerons de Caractère cooperative comprises 80 growers with 1,000 hectares of vines, representing 55 percent of the production in the Southern Rhône’s Vacqueyras appellation. That’s a lot of moving parts, but head winemaker Stéphane Cardona seems to have things working together nicely, as this operation has quietly become an excellent source for value.
