The classic Bordeaux blend that taps Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot or Merlot has been in vogue in California for years. There’s a new twist to this formula when vintners blend in Syrah or, in some instances, Petite Sirah. This week’s report includes mostly Napa Valley Cabernet blends from 2007, which is a sensational vintage for these wines (and most wines made anywhere in the state).
