New reviews of high-end Cabernet-based blends, most from Napa and all from the spectacular 2007 vintage

The classic Bordeaux blend that taps Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot or Merlot has been in vogue in California for years. There’s a new twist to this formula when vintners blend in Syrah or, in some instances, Petite Sirah. This week’s report includes mostly Napa Valley Cabernet blends from 2007, which is a sensational vintage for these wines (and most wines made anywhere in the state).
