In the Loire, Cabernet Franc does well, displaying its tobacco leaf and olive notes with sometimes-crisp black cherry fruit. It’s typically a fresh, unadorned profile that is accentuated by the traditional winemaking techniques that are employed more often than not by some of the Loire’s best red wine makers.
