In 2009, Wine Spectator reviewed more than 17,000 newly released wines in blind tastings. From this pool, the editors have chosen the Top 100 most exciting wines of the year.
This annual list reflects significant trends, spotlights successful regions and recognizes outstanding producers. Since 2009 was a year of economic retrenchment for most people, we focused on value as we made our choices but, as always, quality is key, along with availability and what we call the excitement factor. The Top 100 will be published in the Dec. 31, 2009, issue of Wine Spectator.
Members of WineSpectator.com are eligible for an exclusive first look at the Top 100 list, which will be posted on our site at 10 a.m. ET on Monday, Nov. 16. Get more information here or become a member now.
