With excellent Chardonnays and delicious Pinot Noirs, Burgundians snatched success from a challenging year; now they face a tough market
Apart from 2005 and 2002, the early vintages of the 21st century have been difficult for growers in Burgundy. Yet in 2007, vintners have risen to the challenge, suggesting a new era in which the region can produce pleasant, charming, even excellent wines in years that once would have been less successful.
