Philippine de Rothschild - 1995
The daughter of the late Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild enjoyed a successful career as a stage actress before taking control of her family’s great Bordeaux first-growth Château Mouton-Rothschild in 1988. She has sustained her father’s innovations while adding considerable theatrical flair of her own. She has developed Mouton’s one-time second label, Mouton-Cadet, into France’s largest-selling premium wine brand; entered into a joint agreement with Concha y Toro in Chile to create Almaviva, one of South America’s top red wines; and expanded the company’s line of wines. Photographed in 2005.
