Eric de Rothschild - 1993
Eric de Rothschild is the fifth generation of his family to oversee Bordeaux first-growth estate Château Lafite Rothschild. The Lafite Rothschild property, where grapes have been planted since 1670, was modernized considerably after his arrival in 1974. The result has been a long run of excellent vintages, showcasing Lafite’s signature subtlety and finesse.
As principal director of Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), he also oversees a global company that includes Château Duhart-Milon in Pauillac and Château L’Evangile in Pomerol, as well as partnerships in Chile and Portugal. Photographed in 2000.
