Deconstructing Wine
After deconstructing wine and examining its individual components, you'll have an easier time recognizing the components when they all appear together in your glass.
First we'll look at the individual components; they can be divided into two categories, liquid and solid. Then we'll focus on the solid components (they're the ones that leave a powdery residue in your glass after the wine evaporates). Finally we'll zoom in on tannins, the most important solid component in red wines.
