The food at Silks is terrific, but I have problems with a Grand Award for their winelist. The list looks impressive, but the last two times I was there for dinner there were multiple errors on the list.In one case I ordered the 1998 Chateau la Nerthe, Cuvee des Cadettes ($88) only to be brought the regular CdP bottling. The server went back looking for the Cadettes, but never found it and acknowledged the listing must be an error. The other errors were incorrect vintages of the bottles listed. Sorry, but I think "errors" such as these are inexcusable for a Grand Award winner. I will not go back because of these two experiences.

The food & wine at the Left Bank is splendid. I have also attended a monthly Wine dinner (Tablas Creek Winery Event) and we loved it.

Left Bank is a fantastic restaurant and one of our favorites, it is surprisingly quiet and accessible for the level of quality, and reservations can be made day of and may not even be necessary. They do fill the house for winemaker dinners, which are excellent. Creative and inspired cuisine, professional and polished waitstaff, and a to die for wine list. If you find yourself longing to bring a bottle of what you had home with you, they even do retail sales from their entire list.

Steve, I tried to order that same bottle of la Nerthe CdC too! I can say that they have since cleaned up their list and removed sold outs and errors and have not had any problems since.
