Our one experience at Cafe Boulud was less than pleasant. We were there shortly after 9/11 on a visit from California and had brought a special bottle of wine to enjoy with friends. Cafe Boulud does not have a corkage policy and would not allow us to drink our own wine. They were real jerks about the whole deal and as a result made for a very unpleasant dinner. We have since told anyone we know who is visiting New York to avoid any of Daniel Boulud's resturants.
