Prices Drop at Bellwether Hospices Auction

Despite the potentially excellent quality of Burgundy's 2002 vintage, wine prices dropped at the region's annual Hospices de Beaune auction. Growers and shippers blamed the moderate decrease -- nearly 9 percent from 2001 -- on the gloomy global economy and political instability.
