
In a tasting that underlined the dramatic changes in Brunello di Montalcino over recent years, several of the region's top producers presented their Sangioveses from the remarkable 1997 vintage. "All ships rise with the incoming tide, and the quality tide definitely rose in Brunello di Montalcino with the 1997 vintage," said Cristina Mariani-May of Castello Banfi.
