It's hard to beat a great tête de cuvée from a prestigious Champagne house for quality. It's also tough to afford one, at usually $50 or more per bottle. Fortunately, there are many high quality sparkling wines made in France, California, Spain and elsewhere that provide plenty of flavor and the required fizz at a fraction of the price.
