
The first colheita ("cuhl-YAY-tah") Madeiras to be produced since the Madeira Wine Institute authorized the new designation are beginning to appear in North American wine shops. "Colheita is a new style of single-harvest wine created to encourage appreciation of Madeira as a quality fortified wine," said Bartholomew Broadbent of Broadbent Selections, which imports Madeira into North America.
