As September winds down, Bordeaux and Burgundy remain in demand
In the aftermath of September's multimillion-dollar wine auctions, Butterfields' $311,000 auction in San Francisco and Sotheby's $650,000 sale in London seem relatively modest. Nevertheless, they are a valid barometer of overall market conditions, albeit in microcosm.
