
Not too long ago, I tried my first California Tempranillo. The grapes were grown by Truchard Vineyard in Carneros, and the wine showed off a medley of rich berry flavors. Where or even whether Tempranillo finds a niche in California remains to be seen, but at least it's here and someone is giving it a try.
