California's Pinot Noir boom continues, driven not only by a surge in new names but by a proliferation of single-vineyard wines. In the past year, I tasted more single-vineyard Pinots than I have in any previous year, a fact that reflects winemakers' efforts to identify vineyards that are able to produce distinctive wines.
