Loire Valley's Juggling Act

Millennium vintage brings mixed results but good values

The Loire Valley, France's most diverse wine region, experienced a very good but not exceptional harvest in 2000. The vintage's best whites show harmony and balance, but less amplitude than in top years due to slightly lower ripeness levels.
