The proprietors of Château de Pommard in Burgundy are selling the landmark estate to the owners of Bordeaux's Château Smith-Haut-Lafitte over the next six years. The husband-and-wife team of Florence and Daniel Cathiard will take over the 50-acre estate from Jean and Nadine Laplanche, who wanted to work out a deal that would ensure the future of the property upon their retirement or death.
