An Orchestra of Islands
Every great city has its own sound. In New York, a jam session of taxis, trucks and trains improvises a rhapsody of horns. London has a melody of rattles and squeaks from the diesel engines and brakes of the black cabs and the double-decker buses negotiating its narrow streets.
