Columnists, like teenagers, consider themselves models of clarity. Others beg to differ. A participant in Wine Spectator's Web site forums noted a recent column where I inveighed against the radical filtration technique called reverse osmosis, which literally deconstructs wine, so as to allow a winemaker to remove excess water or alcohol.
