Futures Shock at Auctions After Bordeaux Releases 2000 Prices

The release prices of Bordeaux 2000 futures appear to be having a dramatic effect on the sale of mature wines.

On the one hand, collectors with limited discretionary income are reconsidering their buying priorities in an effort to take a position in the critically acclaimed 2000 vintage. On the other, the soaring cost of the futures offerings makes auction estimates for many mature wines look particularly attractive.
