June 15th, 2001 Sonoma's Old-Vine Zinfandel Sites Offer Unique Reds When it comes to name-dropping about old-vine Zinfandel, Sonoma County owns most of the bragging rights. There are pockets of old Zinfandel growing in Napa Valley, Mendocino, Contra Costa County and the Sierra Foothills—but nowhere is old-vine Zinfandel expressed by as many different vineyard names and styles as it is in Sonoma.
