June 15th, 2001 Getting It (Too) Ripe Zinfandel is up to its old tricks again. While the chameleon of wine grapes generally enjoyed success in 1999, its bottlings from the newly released vintage also testify to higher alcohol levels and the revival of an old trend: late-harvest Zins.
