April 30th, 2001 Napa Valley's Freemark Abbey Sold to Private Partnership Napa Valley wineries continue to be hot commodities. In February, the owners of Freemark Abbey Winery in St. Helena, Calif., one of the valley's oldest producers, sold the brand, winery and more than 100 acres of vineyards to the new Legacy Estates Group, based in Napa.
