
December 15th, 2000 ATF Bans Varietal Labels on Flavored Wines Concerned that the current packaging of flavored wines might confuse consumers, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms has issued a long-anticipated ruling that bans the use of varietal and geographic designations on such products containing at least 7 percent alcohol.
