September 30, 1999 Cucina on the Bayou Andrea's brings authentic Italian cuisine to southern Louisiana By John Mariani N ew Orleans may be known for many things, but Italian food is not one of them. There are a few Italian restaurants in town -- Bacco, Bertucci's, Pascale Manale's -- but, much like everything else in New Orleans, most have become "creole-ized" over the decades, which is just fine and dandy with the local crowd.
