The best wines are easy and approachable, but the prices are not

September 30, 1999 The Burgundians are busy hyping the 1997 reds. Not since the '92 vintage, the worst so far this decade, have the winemakers made so much noise about their Pinot Noirs. A prime reason is that the '97 reds are being released at record-breaking prices.
