June 15, 1999 Chateaus Cut Prices for 1998 Bordeaux After three consecutive years of steep hikes in futures prices, many Bordeaux chateaus are finally giving their customers a break. So far, about three dozen well-known estates in the region have released trade prices for their 1998 wines, with most about 10 percent to 20 percent lower than last year.
