
May 31, 1998 Chance Discovery Unearths 1886 Bottling by Far Niente A bottle of 1886 Far Niente, a sweet Muscat made by the Napa Valley winery, has been found in a Marin County wine cellar. While Napa wineries date to the 1860s, it's almost unheard-of to find a wine this old, and it could rank as one of the oldest bottles of California wine in existence.
