October 15, 1997 Former BV President Legh Knowles Dies Former president and chairman of Beaulieu Vineyard, Legh Knowles, died Aug. 15 in Napa, Calif., after a long illness. He was 78. Born in Connecticut in 1919, Knowles began an early career in the music industry.
