
August 31, 1997 An American Wins Best French Sommelier Title For the second time ever, an American has won the title of Best International Sommelier in French Wines and Spirits. Master Sommelier Joseph Spellman of Charlie Trotter's restaurant in Chicago recently earned the top honor at a rigorous international sommelier competition, held this spring in Paris.
