August 31, 1997 Public Radio Auction Breaks Own Record With $164,000 Good news hit the airwaves this summer for Southern California's National Public Radio affiliate, KCRW. The station raised a record-breaking $164,000 in programming funds at its seventh annual Summerday Wine, Dine and Travel Auction, held in June at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, Calif.
