
June 15, 1997 French Winemaker Starts Work in California's Sierra Nevada Foothills Greenstone Winery in California's Amador County has a new owner, winemaker and name. Los Angeles-based gas, oil and real estate investor Tim Evans, 52, purchased the 70-acre property last fall and hired French winemaker François Cordesse, 28, a native of Montpellier, just in time for crush.
