June 15, 1997 Gruaud-Larose Sold for $70 Million Château Gruaud-Larose, the respected second-growth wine estate in Bordeaux's St.-Julien district, sold in mid-April for nearly $70 million to Groupe Taillan, a powerful family-owned wine company in the region.
