May 15, 1997 Grapevine California's Kendall-Jackson Winery has purchased an 1,100-acre plot of land south of Mendoza, Argentina, that will be developed into vineyard. The land is located in the Tupungato region, in a valley at the base of the Andes that's 3,000 to 4,000 feet above sea level.
