
April 30, 1997 The Fall and Rise Of Alain Ducasse Alain Ducasse has failed in his bid to become the first chef to win six stars from the Michelin Guide. But the 1997 edition of the famed hotel and restaurant guide, published in March, gives the 40-year-old French chef a total of five stars for his two restaurants, an unprecedented feat.
