April 30, 1997 Wine in a New Light By Matt Kramer Years ago, when I was going on at (book) length about Burgundy, I wrote something that burped back at me recently. In discussing the grand cru Richebourg, which typically is one of the richest, most powerful of all red Burgundies, I observed that Richebourg is "truly a modern wine, in that it displays the power and amplitude so prized by wine lovers today.
