
November 30, 1996 Grapevine * Sterling Departure Bill Dyer, winemaker at Sterling Vineyards for the past decade, has resigned from the Napa Valley winery to pursue his own interests. "I have no desire to slam Sterling, but we've had conflicts the past few years and less and less common ground" regarding the style of Sterling's wines, said Dyer, 48, who has worked at the winery for 20 years.
