October 15, 1996 Napa Valley Vintner Chuck Carpy Dies Charles (Chuck) Carpy, managing partner of Freemark Abbey Winery in Napa Valley, died of a heart attack Aug. 19. He was 68. Carpy was born in Napa Valley.
