
May 15, 1996 Wine World's New Treasure By James Laube Chateau St. Jean is making its best wines ever, which is why its acquisition by Wine World is such a coup. Wine World, through its new owners Texas Pacific Group and Silverado Partners, paid around $33 million for this beautiful Sonoma Valley winery, $9 million less than Suntory International paid for it in 1984.
