March 31, 1996 Matanzas Creek to Release $125 California Merlot In November, Matanzas Creek Winery will release the first Merlot from its ultrapremium label, Journey. Culled from six exceptional barrels of the 1992 vintage, the $125 wine will cost more than twice the price of any other American Merlot now on the market.
